Talk with TomTom Malczyk's Experience as a Therapist
I graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a Masters Degree in Social Work. I then went on to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). My theoretical orientation embraces an eclectic mix of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Interpersonal theory, Existential Theory, and psychodynamic approaches. I customize treatment to best accommodate what appeals and works for the client.
As a client-centered practitioner, I provide a compassionate, warm, and easy going approach to therapy. My role is to help you define, navigate and overcome the obstacles holding you back from living your most authentic and meaningful life. I have worked with adolescents and adults experiencing challenges related to identity, grief and loss, loneliness, worry/stress and substance use. I am both neurodiversity and LGBTQ+ affirming.
My goal as a therapist is to assure that each client feels supported, learns to identify their strengths and nurture untapped power within for transformation and growth. It is an honor to walk beside each client on their journey of self-healing, restored balance and renewed connection.
Specialties: Anxiety, Depression, Grief and Loss, Identity, LGBTQ Issues, Loneliness, Trauma and PTSD, Relationship Issues

I believe cultivating ways one can empower oneself can be a catalyst for positive changes. By finding practical ways to remind ourselves of choices we have in our everyday lives can assist in improving ourselves overall. I believe in meeting individuals where they are in their healing journey and provide flexibility due to life's busy schedule.

I believe that every person should talk with a therapist at least once in their lifetime. Everyone deserves to have a neutral party to listen to their stressor, and to help them develop healthy ways to cope.
